Responsibilities
- Lead the audit engagements for publicly listed companies (TSX, TSXV, NYSE, NASDAQ)
- Key point of contact for client and ability to lead client discussions on status of engagements, key deliverables and progress of the audit.
- Timely communication with audit managers (Detail file review) and partners on status of the audit and progress of testing and approach Deliver industry and technical expertise in audit and assurance through client interactions, reports, technical work, management presentations and high-quality deliverables
- Accountable for engagement planning and project management
- Maintain quality control and apply specialized knowledge to anticipate, identify and address issues relevant to the client’s business, financial entries and reports
- Mentor, motivate and coach team members towards professional and personal development by setting clear expectations, providing feedback and conducting performance reviews
- Document initial memos related to consultations on complex accounting/reporting/disclosure issues by researching technical accounting guidance and studying complex accounting arrangements and conclude thereon.
- Review client’s financial statements, MD&As and other statutory deliverables to ensure compliance with IFRS.
- Prepare presentations for the client’s Audit Committees, management representation letters and audit findings report and discuss issues/matters of interests with the clients and responded to their queries.
- Develop effective working relationships with clients while coaching and mentoring junior team members
- Prioritise and manage multiple files simultaneously, as needed
- Maintain flexibility to work extra hours, as necessary, to meet client commitments
